Assuming you are trying to stay connected to the net via a wireless router, your
problems are probably hardware related. Signal strengths from wireless router/modems
are very dependent on distance and physical barriers like walls. You can move 3 feet
to the left and the signal strength goes up.
Wireless PCMCIA cards in laptops have pretty small aerials built into the card. Worst
case is that you may have to buy an external aerial/PCMI card package that connects
using a USB port to get better reception.
