A thumb drive would not be my choice for storage.... they are too susceptable to static... I'd choose a DVD or a good brand name CD... But having said all that , if whatever information you are attempting to protect is REALLY that important ,then it should not be on your computer... It should be in some sort of hard copy and stored off site , like in a safe deposit box... If that doesn't work for you and you MUST have it on your computer , then get over your paranoia or put everything on a laptop and carry it on your person at all times...
