Thanks for the response. You are absolutely right about 64 programmes being installed, of course you wouldn't do that normally, without knowing what they are or do! Guess I'm just one of those indoctrinated Microsoft dummies who believee everything MSoft does is only good for your machine. Not anymore.....autoupdates is now forever disabled
