lol i had the opposite problem...
in my case the desktop icon disappeared right after the install and i wasn't able
to access my bluetooth places with the other shortcuts
i found out that i was missing the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{6af09ec9-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb} key so i created
it myself and teh icon really appeared on the desktop and i was ableto access my
bluetooth places and operate further ....
now the only annoying thing is that i can't use the other shortcuts like "explore
my bluetooth places"
tried to put that CLSID key like it's stated here but no change
anyone figured that one out ?
