Here's a solution that worked for me. . . . (See my post on the "related" issue .
. .
Load your Windows disc . . . Click on START . . . Select RUN . . . . type in SFC/scannow
Your computer will scan your entire system looking for any files found on the Windows
disc that aren't on your computer.
It'll take maybe 30 minutes or so to scan. And you'll get a prompt to OK any files
it finds.
I did that, rebooterd, and I was good to go. Haven't had a problem since.
