1. You should have the m/b manual and read it carefully, you can d/l it from the 
m/b manufacturer's web site.
2. You should NOT be using a RAID array, but you need to enable the SATA controller, 
the exact wording varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, that's why you need the 
manual.
3. If you are using SATA drives, you MUST hit F6 at the appropriate prompt, and load 
the drivers from a floppy disk, otherwise XP will not see the drives.
