I too was frustrated that my folders changed their settings, seemingly without cause.
Then one day I observed that when I changed the setting in one folder, the settings
also changed in another, unrelated, folder. I used regmon.exe to see where the settings
were being stored, and discovered that these two folders were taking their settings
- from the same BAGMRU line in the registry! How did this happen? The two folders
are completely unrelated, not a parent/child, nothing. To fix this, I created a
new folder, copied all the files from one of the paired folders to the new one, and
deleted the old folder. Regmon now shows that the new folder has its own BAGMRU
entry, and I can set the attributes independently. Has anyone observed this; two
folders with the same BAG?
