When XP first came out it wasn't long before there was a "Service pack" for it.
Then there was another. Since SP2 there have been dozens of patches for XP. I doubt
that it will be different for Vista. The "Windows" Operating Systems are designed
to do almost everything for everyone, from casual email checkers and internet surfers
to serious multi-machine in-house networked workstations in corporations that maintain
connections to multiple networks of other neworks. (With support for almost every
language in the world) It is unlikely that such a complex and flexible platform
would be bug-free straight off the shipping dock despite beta testing. My XP works
well on my present computer. Down the road a few years when it is time for me to
get a new machine I will get a computer designed for Vista, which by then will have
benefited from full "sea trials." I see no reason for me to rush to a new operating
system when XP is doing what I want done right now. Hey, If all I wanted was new,
I could have Linux tomorrow for free.
