See if you can enter the bios and make sure the harddrive is listed as 1st boot device.
Since its a laptop, it might be a little harder to check to make sure that the cable
attached to the drive is snug at both ends. It sounds to me though like it might
be trying to boot a network via the network card. So thats why i'm saying check to
make sure that the hard drive is set as first boot device. I also did a google search
on Intel pxe rom and this is what the results came up as...

It might not be a bad idea to check these out for possible fixes.
