Thanks again, Mark. But Win98 does not support NTFS (at least without third-party
software), right? Can a FAT-only OS really work in this situation?
But your great link to Bootdisk.com was a real gold mine! There I *did* find a way
to make a bootable CD that could read AND write to NTFS volumes (it was well worth
the four bucks to get at such good stuff). I haven't tried it yet, but it's clearly
an excellent idea. I'll report back.
