This is the best reference I found and I remember reading it back when I had that
problem. from what I've read and been told, it seems like it's not necessarily the
hard item itself. Just that there is an incompatible device driver installed.
changes and updates I believe can cause this problem. That's what seemed to happen
in my case. I bought a used system from a private party and he had installed Pro
on it. It had been designed for ME. The Pro got hacked into so I just got a new copy
of Home and had it installed. No such problem since. And Joe, no it's not known to
be endemic to AMD.
