Using event viewer (which I never knew you could click on to get more info...thanks!), I located where the problem was, it was missing a NSEXTINT.dll in the C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Folders\1033 Where it went I have no idea, but I found a copy of it and moved it over, now the problem seems to be gone. I'm fortunate in that I have two running copies of OfficeXP. Others may not be so lucky. Now, I can foresee this happening again. It started in the other computer, running XP Pro, when I uninstalled the beta of Microsoft Expression. I couldn't reinstall it, getting that patch error again, so system restored it to the previous day. That beta expires March 31, so at least I know what to look at when it comes up again after the final uninstall.
