I've followed these steps but I'm not clear when you say delete the old key. Is it
the icon with the red "ab" sign next to it? If so, this is the one I tried to delete
and it says I'm unable to. Please help thanks.
Hi,
This might work for you (if the computer hangs at 'scanning compressed files stage'):
1. Type Regedit in Start - Run
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Volume
Caches
3. Export "Compress Old Files" folder (via right click)
4. Delete all entries in this folder
5. Reboot
6. Run Disk Cleanup
7. Import previous exported keys (by doubleclicking on exported .reg file)
