I recently ran Security Task Manager in response to another thread on this forum. The list of potential threats included: Java Platform SE binary; Google IE Client Toolbar; AVG Alert Manager, Update Service & Control Centre; Spybot S&D; Windows Defender and MS Office Pro 2007. If these are regarded as "threats", how can we be sure that security software is doing a good job?
