ADSL modem networking problem

A friend and I have networked computers, both on ADSL with the same phone company
- seperate accounts.

My PC is the host. Up until now we have only used the computers at my house. Today,
at her house, I plugged her modem in. XP installed her modem and I was on the internet
straight away...

Now, I know ADSL modems retain information. So, how do I tell if I'm logged in to
her ADSL account or if I'm logged into mine (at her house).

Any suggestions?
