The service in who's name the account is in, follows the phone line and you can only
have one service per line. In other words, if you are paying for DSL service on
your line, anyone connecting to your modem/router, uses your service. Anytime you
use your machine on someone elses phone line, you are on their service. For most
ISP setups however, you will still be able to access your POP email through that
line or your own, if your ISP has a typical POP email setup, and most give you multiple
email accounts. Multiple email accounts on one service account should not be confused
with the service account in who's name the telephone service is in. In other words,
there may be two seperate users on your line and have seperate email accounts, but
one person is usually the primary account holder unless the service is in both names,
and then one of the email accounts is still considered primary in most cases. It
is still considered one service (since you can only have one modem on a line) but
since most ISP's provide multiple email addresses, you can have more than one email
account per service account. Does that make sense?? Either way, when you go to
another house and connect to their modem/router, you are on their service. You can't
be on yours, but you can still access your POP email (in most cases).
