You're right, but I only include a warning, when I'm recommending it for general
cleaning of temps, etc. along with other instr. i.e. malware removal, or... etc.,
when registry cleaning is irrelevant.
(Do NOT scan for Issues, if you're uncomfortable using registry cleaners).
And, the only reason I started adding that is because a part time regular jumped
all over me, totally freaked saying I should know better. Ridiculous... That, and
he YELLED that I was recommending using MSCONFIG to trim down startups. (You know
who you are!)
I think this extreme paranoia about using registry cleaners, is like some contagious
disease that hit the XP forum.. and I think I know who started it. We've thought
nothing of recommending registry cleaners on the 98 forum, and we didn't see this
fear about using them.
