(12 messages posted) I am completely missing this file, ntoskrnl.exe - except in my case I deleted the file and emptied Recycle Bin. It's gone completely. I cannot restore to an earlier point as System Restore was turned off when the file was deleted. Can't use Recovery Console cuz I have SP 2. I've also checked the Reinstallation CD for Windows XP as well as the Drivers and Utilities CD and the file isn't on there. I need someone to either point me to a place where I can download this file, or have someone send a copy of it, as I've heard it's a generic file. I can boot up but must use Ctrl+Alt+Del to get fully booted up after the welcome screen. Unable to access another copy of the file from a different PC as I am recovering from a knee injury and cannot walk. This is serious please help.
