Weird, it seems to be monitor specific though. You might try their site to see if 
they have any solutions. Also, try to borrow another monitor overnight to test this.

You can try actually pushing the power button on the monitor (twice maybe?) before 
waking the PC.

If you still need to re-boot occasionally, memorize the key sequence to shut down 
from the start menu -- mine will take "WIN key -- UP ARROW -- ENTER -- ALT-R".
