I tried everything here. I was sure it wasn't a hardware problem and I had not installed
any new hardware or software before the failure.
I tried updating the ESCD, but on my computer the only options were auto and manual.
I changed to manual, reboot, no change, back to auto, reboot, no change.
I didn't really know if the ESCD update. I forced an update and it worked.
If you have a similar situation, try forcing an ESCD update as follows:
1. Check your bios settings so you can restore them.
2. Shut off your PC.
3. Unplug the PC.
4. Remove the watch battery from the motherboard.
5. Count to 30.
6. Replace the battery, plug in the PC, go directly to bios when you reboot, and
at least correct the time.
That's it. Mine is running again.
