i've got the same darn PnPSoftEnuM problem and i still cant fix it using the regedit
method by king or using the reinstallation of the said driver by tony (deleting line
22 in machine.inf,etc)... The error message i receive in device manager is "Windows
cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing.
(Code 39)".... as a result, my Cd drives are rendered useless and so have my sound
card... i've still got cd based drivers to install on this new computer and its driving
me nuts!!!! Assistance is appreciated
