I have a dell computer with Windows XP that does not have a parallel printer port.
I have a PCI card parallel port installed, but my printer, Panasonic KXP1121, will
not work with older dos-based programs. It runs perfectly with windows or staroffice
programes.
The underlying problem is that the PCI printer port is automatically assigned to
LPT3, whereas the dos programes print thro LPT1.
Switching the LPT3 to LPT1 at the Control Panel will disable the printer altogether.
