I also tried to do that. In the Control Panel, Systems Properties, Device Manager,
ACPI is the first item on the list when you expand the computer icon. It is called
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC. But alas, there are no options
to disable or uninstall it. So what's the secret? How did you disable your ACPI?
