Finally got a fix!!
C-Media looked like it was working fine but when enabled, PC went to blue screen
error reading problem with cmuda.sys. If audio disabled, then PC would boot up OK.
1. Uninstalled any mention of C-Media: System-Device Manager AND Add/Remove.
2. d/loaded C-Media driver package from MajorGeeks.com (see above) bless 'em...
3. Saved to Desktop and rebooted.
4. On booting up, PC finds new hardware (C-Media AC97 Audio Device)
5. Point the Search to the downloaded folder on Desktop
6. Let the computer install updated files
7. Reboot and cross fingers ...
It worked for me, don't know why it went wrong in the first place, unless it was
due to a Windows Update (I did not have the C-Media AC97 Update on my PC).
This one is a sod! I hope you guys all got sorted eventually.
