I agree w Alex. You will need xp drivers. A quick check of the Gateway site is
not too encouraging. They have one driver for the card reader, and offer others
that *may* work. I have seen several laptops that were made for vista NOT have drivers
available for xp. The vendors make components specific for an OS and don't always
make drivers for earlier OS's. It's a good chance that that unit won't work under
xp. A google check

indicates that there is a chance that all the drivers are available, but you would
have to do the legwork of finding and loading everything.
