I would suspect something is not seated properly, since carrying the computer back and forth in the car tends to jostle it a bit. Check it over very carefully. Remove and reinstall all memory, remove and replug all cables, remove and reinstall all PCI cards.

Also try booting to BIOS Setup and loading defaults, as that sometimes helps. May also be time to replace the CMOS battery (CR2032).
