One day all was well and the next it wouldn't boot past mup.sys. It wouldn't even boot into the recovery partition on the hard drive. I formatted the "c" partition and re-installed xp via a cd. all worked well for a couple of days... then it did the same thing again. I can get it to re-install windows just fine. as soon as I start getting the security updates is when it hangs up. I am convinced it is a microsoft problem. anybody know?
