This happened on my computer recently for no apparent reason. One day all was well
and the next it wouldn't boot past mup.sys. It wouldn't even boot into the recovery
partition on the hard drive. I formatted the "c" partition and re-installed xp via
a cd. all worked well for a couple of days... then it did the same thing again.
I can get it to re-install windows just fine. as soon as I start getting the security
updates is when it hangs up. I am convinced it is a microsoft problem. anybody know?
