Depends on the fault and how serious it is.  Lots of possibilities on that one. Faults 
may show up after the system has warmed up, to faults/issues happening when that 
particular area of RAM gets used.  A bad slot or memory controller will be consistant 
depending on the RAM usage and load. (generally be consistant if how you use the 
machine stays the same like programs, utilities used etc, even drivers being loaded 
into the effected memory area)
