XP will rediscover it and reload it's driver. See if thta helps. If not, download the Winsock XP Fix here and give it a try: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html The next thing I would do is replace the network card. If it's integrated on the system board then add a PCI network card if there is a free slot.
