Windows Installer Problem - Office 2003

For some reason each time I try to run my Windows Office 2003 programs, the windows
installer program pops up. The program tells me that the program is not functioning
properly and needs to be re-installed. Would not be a problem, however I have managed
to loose the original CD and can't find the product key reference. MS say they can't
help! I would appreciate any help, suggestions anyone has. Alternatively I do have
my old MS office 2000 CD which I could re-install - can I still pick up my Outlook
file using this?
