Here's a truly abstruse possible cause. As well as "hidden" files, there are "superhidden" files !! If you are familiar with editing the Registry try this but back up the Registry first. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced KEY ShowSuperHidden:REG_DWORD . . . value is 1 for enable, 2 for disable KEY SuperHidden:REG_DWORD . . . value is 1 for enable, 2 for disable Make sure they both have the value 1
