Do this:
1. The taskbar may be locked to unreasonable width.
Unlock the taskbar by right clicking > Uncheck "lock the taskbar" and then try to
adjust the width/height of the tabs or move the Quick Launch bar below.
2. Try to open more windows and see if the problem solves when closing the tabs/windows
on taskbar.
3. It is possible the clock,quick launch and taskbar with tabs has been improperly
configured or changed somehow using Windows XP.
4. Ungroup similar icon settings for taskbar should be disabled.(Right Click > Properties
> Taskbar > Uncheck group similar taskbar buttons) also try show/hide Quick launch
option..
5. Try to change themes or desktop display settings and by right-clicking n play
with the settings, it may eventually be okay.(by right click on desktop and then
properites..I meant display properties).
If you can elaborate more...I would be in a better position to help.
