Before you trawl through all of the replies like I did, I'll narrow it down for you. Press "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" to bring up the task manager, go to "FILE/NEW TASK (RUN)" and type "Explorer" - make sure you type a capital E! There are many replies here that do not make that clear. Typing "explorer" just seems to bring up a new "My Documents" window. Capital E = return of taskbar! Apparently "CTRL+SHIFT+ESC" will work but it didn't for me.
