I got a virus. I then bought a anti virus program. That didn't help so I tried using
my recovery discs. That helped a great bit but now my computer won't let me on the
net as it says I'm missing .net framework. I'm thinking that maybe I have a boot
sector virus or mbr virus since my computer os didn't load properly. I've been reading
that I should try to reload xp to use the fixmbr feature of the recovery console
but the recovery disc doesn't have this feature. I read that fdisk doesn't work
with xp, only me. I'm am starting to think that only the xp software that comes in
a box has this feature, not the recovery discs that came with my system (xp was already
loaded onto my computer when I bought it). Am I right about this? I thinking that
the only way to get a clean mbr is to buy xp and reload the os. What do you think
of this solution? Also, are you able to buy a computer these days without having
to buy it with an operating system already loaded?
