I would suggest you do a complete format and reinstall. First thing to do is to find a working machine plug up the broke machines HDD as a slave and backup your files. Then piece the broke one back together and boot to the install CD. format drive completely delete exsisting partitions and create new partitions. Post back any error messages after that.
