In the dev manager, there are two listings for primary IDE controller and two listings
for Secondary and Two listings for standart dual channel PCI IDE controller.

In the first listing for Primary IDE Device 0 is working in Multi-Word DMA 2 <--
CD/DVD rom i assume?

In the second listing for Primary IDE Device 0 is working in Ultra DMA Mode 5

Does two listings per channel strike you as odd? and also the fact that this is a
S ATA harddrive and windows is apparently seeing it as an IDE Drive? I don't know,
never used SATA with XP before I got this laptop.

Question is does this sound about right or is something not quite in place... Maybe
something else is wrong ... I did have to use the Have Disk... button to get my sound
drivers to install because using the installer resulted in a "...MEDIA Device not
found" error every time. But I know it's the right drivers for XP and they work great
except for the really annoying skipping sounds I'm having. Its not like a CD scratch
skip, but sounds more like interferance when listening to the radio in a bad spot
of town... a scrambling kind of sound.

Thanks.
