Windows Backup Scheduled Job

If the computer was shut down and the scheduled backup job did not take place, after
powering up you would expect that windows would have realized that a scheduled job
has been missed and will start doing that immediately. That does not happen though.

As an example, if a daily backup is scheduled for 2pm every day but at 2 pm the computer
was shut down and you power up the computer at 3pm, the missed job would not start
that day but on the following day at 2pm provided of course the computer is on.

Is this a feature of windows backup that I have to live with or some tweaking is
possible and windows can be made to automatically start a missed job without waiting
for the next scheduled job.
Thanks
