An alternative method is to re-install Plug & Play Software Device Enumerator. Not
sure if it was mentioned above, but double click it to open up properties, click
on driver and do update, then do not search, I will choose, and choose same one again.
It seemed to work for me so far, hp z545 realtek hd audio
Another step I took which may have done the trick was to disable the Microsoft UAA
Bus Driver for HD Audio-- listed in plug & play devices just above the device enumerator...
this may not work for all, but seems to be good for me now, did not even need a reboot
