Mouse left click behaving as right click

I'm having the following issue with my HP Pavillion 754n:
- Double click is not working correctly when pressed over an icon in the desktop
or the explorer. Instead, it shows a context menu with the options "open" and "search".
- A single click or double click over an empty area of the desktop activates the
context menu as if I had pressed right click.
- Right click does not do anything.
- When I open Excel, it seems as if the left click were locked because it starts
highlighting (selecting) the area where I move the mouse pointer.
- I have tried reinstalling mouse drivers, but it have not worked. The mouse is a
PS/2 compatible and I also tested a USB mouse to discard hardware problems and the
issue continued.
- Tried restoring the system and it did not work.
- I also tried reistalling windows and it did not work
