Could be a loose or broken connection in the video lead.
Try this: switch off computer and monitor. Unplug video
lead from PC, and also from the monitor if there is a plug
rather than a hard-wired connection at that end. Replace
and remove the plug(s) two or three times to help clean
any corrosion -- unlikely but possible, then firmly replace
the plug(s) taking care to tighten the retaining screws. If
all is now well, you have solved the problem.
You might also try **very** gently flexing the cable
slightly at either end near the plug(s) while the PC and
monitor are operating. If the colours change and/or
return to normal, this is a sign of a bad physical
connection and you need to consult a technician to fix it.
