It certainly does work that way. Instead of using a floppy disk, use a CD, a thumb 
drive, or transfer them via a network connection. But I assure you that whatever 
you were able to do with a 3.5" floppy, you can do with the others. 

Also what's so laborous about using the floppy disk? TTF files are rather small, 
you can get quite a few of them in 1.44MB
