Sound Card Problem ON Windows Tablet

This is driving me nuts. I recently purchased a Samsung Q1 Ultra Portable running Vista. I really don’t like Vista for a lot of reasons and decided to downgrade it to XP Tablet. Install took a while searching for correct drivers and such plus a lot of the drivers from the Samsung website had a problem installing. As I said I got everything going with the exception of the sound card. I have no sound whatsoever and trying to update the driver comes back as it not being recognized. I have all sound codecs listed in device manager but it also tells me via the exclamation mark that I am missing a driver for a PCI device, i.e. my sound card. I downloaded the driver from Samsung but it tells me the driver is older than the one I have and stops installation. I have also tried the Realtek(?) drivers but the same problem and I also followed a fix that had me rename a file to something like 88881111.exe . What it seems I need to do is remove all reference to any sound card stuff at all and kind of go back to the beginning. I believe my chipset is the Intel 945 and I have also tried reinstalling the chipset driver, which goes smoothly but still no recognition of the sound card. Lastly, it worked fine under Vista so I doubt it went bad during the downgrade.
