OKAY LISTEN HERE I THINK I MAY HAVE SOLVED IT!!!!
XP users look here
right okay
press the start key + R to bring up the run menu
now search depending on what your user hard drive is called you will alter the letter
(mine is C:\)
so i would type
c:\WINDOWS\system32
go into there and search for a file called "dllcache"
(on mine the test is blue for some reason)
search for the "sndvol32.exe" file
now right click and copy the file
go Back into the "system32" folder (c:\WINDOWS\system32)
then simply paste this file into here.
the control panel was being dumb and the file was in a different place on mine.
if this does not solve the problem then i try to e-mail you the .exe file if i can
do that.
or try looking in the same place but on a backup CD or hardrive. (in the dllcache
folder)
hope this helps!
