What you have just done will only help you for the small minority of programs that
depend on .NET to run. However, nearly all programs written for 32 bit Windows will
run just fine under 64 bit Windows. The major exception is drivers: in the long
run, you'll probably be happier with 32bit if you are going to be connecting the
machine to a lot of other devices (printers, etc.) that require drivers, because
many devices lack drivers that are compatible with 64bit Windows.
