Taskbar shows program open, but it's not...

Hey everybody, I've been having an issue with a program I use for gaming, Ventrilo.
I was online one day chatting with some buddies, and my computer just crashed (another
problem entirely, that I managed to fix). Well the odd thing is, now whenever I try
to open Vent, a tile for it appears on the taskbar, and the task manager recognizes
it, but thats all. The program window never opens. I've tried uninstalling it, then
reinstalling, but it does the same thing. I'm not entirely sure what could be causing
it, does anyone have any ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
