You took your laptop to work. Right? That is the key to the problem. Does the laptop
have a wired or wireless or both? How did you use it at work? Were your on battery
or on AC power? Yes, it does matter.
If you can, beg or borrow a another ether net card for your laptop. Do the whole
network wizard thing again on the Lapto. Reboot all computers and the router. Turn
on UPnP thing in the network options. In about three minutes it should find everybody.
Later, find out if you damaged your first ether net adapter when you got into the
business network.
Yes, not at all strange. Normal for Windows XP.
