Removing shared documents w/o removing my documents

using win xp sp2 and I want to get rid of the shared documents folder but keep the my documents folder. I tried the regedit for removing shared folder from my computer but it also removes the my documents folder from my computer. Anyway to get rid of shared documents folder but leave the my documents folder in my computer?
