Thank you for all your help. We did everything as you suggested and then realised that we would also need to purchase a power supply 9.5V. Previously the scanner received its power via the printer it was attached to and of course once it was no longer attached would obviously need its own power. We are feeling rather foolish but still think we would have required the other information you gave us. Will let you know if the power source is all we needed but won't be able to get it for a few days. Will be in touch with the info but thank you very much.
