i need help connection problems

this is pretty wierd i can connect to the internet using internet explorer aswell
as firefox but i can not connect to aim or yahoo or anything else i need help. ive
checked my firewall and its allowing them to connect anyone have any thoughts about
this? please contact me back with a responce would be gladly appreciated
