Malware-Popups Question

After scanning with Adware 2007 it detected: ( Malware Ctx popups ) so I quaranteed it for now. My question is, how do I know what to delete when things like this are detected? I feel that keeping this infection quaranteed for a couple of weeks or so with no adverse side effects that I can then delete it safely. Am I on the right track with such a move or should I do something else? Also, this is listed as a critical object after the scan. What are your thought here?
